Terms of Service

1. What You're Getting

When you purchase credits from LawTasksAI, you receive:

• Access License: A non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use our AI task automation service
• Task Credits: Prepaid credits that let you execute legal tasks through our platform
• Expert Frameworks: Access to professionally designed task methodologies for 200+ legal workflows
• Integration Tools: Software to connect our service with your AI assistant (OpenClaw, Claude Desktop, etc.)

2. What You're NOT Getting

To be crystal clear:

• You do not own the task prompts, methodologies, or system architecture
• You cannot resell, redistribute, or share our task frameworks
• You cannot reverse-engineer our service to create competing products
• Your license is for your use only — not for resale or third-party service provision

3. Two Types of Tasks

Server-Side Tasks (159 tasks)

Research, deadline calculations, court rules, legal lookups, and form generation run on our servers. You send a query, we return results. The task logic never leaves our infrastructure.

Local Execution Tasks (43 tasks)

Document analysis tasks (deposition summaries, contract review, etc.) run locally on your machine to protect client confidentiality. You receive the expert framework, and your AI assistant applies it to documents that never leave your computer.

Important: Local execution tasks deliver the framework to you. While we trust you to use it ethically, copying or distributing these frameworks violates this agreement and will result in license termination.

4. Credits & Pricing

• One credit = one task execution
• Credits never expire
• Credits are non-refundable after purchase
• Server-side tasks charge when you execute them
• Local tasks charge when you download the framework
• You can check your balance anytime through the service

5. Your Data & Privacy

We take your privacy seriously:

• Documents stay private: Local execution tasks process documents entirely on your machine
• Query data: Server-side tasks receive your queries to execute the task. We don't store query content beyond what's necessary for processing
• Usage logs: We track credit usage, task types, and timestamps for billing and service improvement
• No sale: We will never sell your data to third parties
• Compliance: You remain responsible for ABA Model Rule 1.6 compliance when using our service

6. Lawyer's Duties

LawTasksAI is a tool, not a lawyer. You're still responsible for:

• Reviewing all AI-generated content for accuracy
• Meeting ethical obligations to clients
• Supervising use of AI tools in your practice
• Ensuring compliance with local bar rules regarding AI use
• Protecting client confidential information

This is software, not legal advice. AI makes mistakes. Always review, verify, and use professional judgment.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree NOT to:

• Share your license key with others
• Use the service as a substitute for licensed legal representation, or to offer legal services to third parties if you are not a licensed attorney
• Attempt to extract, copy, or reverse-engineer our task prompts or systems
• Use the service for illegal purposes or to violate others' rights
• Abuse the service with excessive automated requests
• Resell access to LawTasksAI as part of another service

8. License Termination

We may terminate your license immediately if you:

• Violate these terms
• Abuse the service
• Share your credentials
• Use the service for prohibited purposes

Upon termination, you lose access to the service. Remaining credits are forfeited (no refunds).

9. Updates & Changes

• We continuously improve our tasks. You get updates automatically.
• We may modify pricing for future credit purchases (existing credits unaffected)
• We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the new terms.
• We'll notify you of major changes via email if you're subscribed to updates

10. Disclaimers & Limitations

Service provided "as is":

• We don't guarantee 100% uptime (though we try!)
• AI output may contain errors — always review
• Legal rules change — you're responsible for current law
• We're not liable for decisions you make based on AI output

Limitation of liability: Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for credits. We're not responsible for consequential damages, lost profits, or legal malpractice claims.

11. Intellectual Property

LawTasksAI owns all rights to:

• Task prompts and methodologies
• Software and integration tools
• Branding and visual design
• System architecture and databases

You retain ownership of:

• Documents you upload or process
• Work product you create using our tools
• Your client files and data

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Colorado law. Any disputes will be resolved in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
